Awestruck with Wonder at Your Plan
Marveling at God’s Creative Power and Purpose
Revelation 21:1, 3 — “Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth… And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, ‘Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them…’”
Opening Reflection
When God pulls back the veil of eternity and lets us glimpse His final plan, every anxious thought loses its grip. John’s vision in Revelation does not merely describe the end of history—it reveals the breathtaking fulfillment of God’s desire from the very beginning. A new heaven. A new earth. No separation. No sorrow. God dwelling with His people in complete, restored intimacy. This is the future God Himself has prepared for you. When this truth settles deeply into the soul, it leaves us awestruck, humbled, and overflowing with hope.
Taking a Devotional View
Revelation 21 is not a fantasy—it is the guaranteed fulfillment of God’s redemptive storyline. The same God who created the first heaven and earth will one day bring forth a renewed creation untouched by decay, disease, or disappointment. Everything sin once fractured will be mended with divine perfection. This is not merely the “afterlife”; it is the full unveiling of God’s eternal design.
But verse 3 reveals the true treasure of eternity: “The dwelling place of God is with man.” More than golden streets or pearly gates, the ultimate gift is God Himself. His presence will no longer be approached by faith—we will live in it, walk in it, breathe in it. You will never again feel distant from Him, never again struggle to sense His nearness. God’s plan has always been relational, and eternity is the joyful completion of that desire.
When this future becomes real to us, it changes how we live now. Present trials shrink in comparison to the glory ahead Romans 8:18. Fear softens into trust. Weariness turns into endurance. And gratitude grows, because we remember that history is not spiraling into chaos—it is moving steadily, intentionally toward God’s magnificent conclusion.
