Eternity in Your Heart
Living each day with eternity in view
Ecclesiastes 3:11 — “He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, he has put eternity into man’s heart, yet so that he cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end.”
Opening Reflection
Every longing for meaning is a whisper of eternity. Deep within every human soul is a yearning for something beyond time—a desire for forever that God Himself has placed there (Ecclesiastes 3:11). This eternal ache reminds us that we were made for more than the temporary; we were created for unending communion with God.
Taking a Devotional View
The longing for eternity propels us toward the God who alone can satisfy it. Moments filled with beauty, love, or wonder are not accidents—they are previews of the “forever world” God is preparing. These glimpses are not meant to make us discontent but to deepen our anticipation of what is to come (Romans 8:23–25).
Living with eternity in view reshapes our priorities. When we recognize that life on earth prepares us for forever, we begin storing treasure in heaven rather than pursuing what fades (Matthew 6:19–21). Hope strengthens us even in hardship, for “this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison” (2 Corinthians 4:17).
God has placed eternity in your heart so that you will seek Him. Every ache for permanence, every desire for meaning, every longing for home finds its fulfillment in Jesus—the Eternal One who stepped into time to give us life without end. To know Him is to begin experiencing eternity now.
