Living From Acceptance, Not For It
Resting joyfully in secure belonging
Romans 5:1–2 — “Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God.”
Opening Reflection
Many believers unknowingly carry their faith as though acceptance from God were something still to be earned. Scripture gently reminds us that our standing with God is not fragile. In Christ, acceptance is not a goal to pursue, but a gift already given.
Taking a Devotional View
Paul declares that believers have peace with God and that they stand firmly in grace. Our relationship with God is grounded in Christ’s finished work, not in our fluctuating performance Ephesians 2:8–9.
Living from acceptance transforms the posture of the Christian life. Obedience becomes joyful response rather than anxious effort. Secure belonging frees the heart from fear and allows love to mature naturally 1 John 4:18.
When believers rest in the acceptance they already have, joy deepens and spiritual growth accelerates. We live from the settled assurance that Christ is enough—and that in Him, we are fully welcomed and secure.
