Reflecting Christ's Love

A Life Shaped by the Spirit

John 13:35 — “By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Opening Reflection

God’s design is that His children become living expressions of His heart (2 Corinthians 3:18). As we walk with Jesus, He forms His character in us so that His love naturally shines through our words, attitudes, and actions. When others encounter us, they should encounter glimpses of the Savior who lives in us—not because we are perfect, but because He is faithfully shaping us day by day.

Taking a Devotional View

The love Jesus demonstrated is the love He desires to display through us (Ephesians 5:1–2). This is not something we produce by trying harder; it is the result of yielding ourselves to the Holy Spirit. When we abide in Christ and respond in obedience to His Word, the Spirit grows His love within us, making us more like Him in real and recognizable ways.

The transformation of our hearts is a lifelong journey. God gently removes what hinders His reflection in us and strengthens what aligns with His character. The closer we walk with Him—listening to His voice (John 10:27), trusting His leading (Proverbs 3:5–6), and loving as He loves—the more His nature becomes visible in us. The Spirit’s ongoing work ensures our lives increasingly display Jesus to a world so desperate for His love.

Even when we fall short, we stand in grace. Christ does not condemn us—He continues to form us (Philippians 1:6). In His hands, we become vessels of love—reshaped, renewed, and ready to reflect His glory.
